Welcome to our new weekly blog: What's at Stake?

The Doctors in our office are consistently asked numerous questions about what are now considered "common" conditions such as Allergies, colic/reflux, ear infections, autism, digestive issues, headaches, and the list goes on and on. So we have decided to address each and every one of these in a weekly blog series that will focus on more than the conditions themselves and really address what's at stake in the bigger picture with these conditions.

Allergies are becoming increasingly common in our society for a number of reasons and we will attempt to give a brief overview of them in this post, but our doctors are really passtionate about sharing this information with you if this is something you would like more information about. Not only do allergies produce symptoms such as running noses, itchy eyes, congestion, skin rashes, headaches, but they affect other around you. So this week we are going to have you do a quick timeout from our busy lives and really think about how these allergies affect us and our loved ones. We hear these things all the time: "I wish I could visit my sister, but because she has a dog I can't go", "I went to church on Sunday and later that night I was dealing with a massive headache because someone was wearing too much perfume", "I can't even concentrate", "I see my kids playing outside, but I don't care go and play with them because I will suffer for a week", "I have to hire my yardwork done because my allergies". So you can see that your allergy symptoms are not just affecting you, but they affect your finances, your family time, your relationships, and your own stress. These are the reasons that our team is deeply passionate about Chiropractic and how it can changes lives within our community.

So how does Chiropractic help with allergies? First and foremost, our bodies are run by our nervous system and a properly functioning nervous system is a core princple with in Chiropractic. At Robinson Family Wellness, the doctors use advanced technology to help them find where the nervous system may have too much stress or strain. Another core essential concept with Allergies is an individual ability to adapt to their environment, the system that our doctors use also helps determine if your body is stuck in a state of protection or if it is in a state of growth and healing. With Allergies most often an individual is stuck in a state of protection. Finally, with allergies your immune system needs to be balanced. Most people have no idea that there is such a thing. Our bodies have two different branches of the immune system both of which are crucial for a healthy immune response, however, when a person is struggling with allergies, they tend to have an imbalance. This imbalance in part due to nervous system stress and strain, but also other lifestyle choice and exposures.
